About

Debra Lee Casper

Debra Lee Casper, affectionately known as Ms Debbie, has been a working artist and art instructor since 1983 when she graduated from art school. She has studied under various artists in many mediums for her continued education over the years, and continues those studies to this day.

Ms Debbie teaches art at various schools in the Napa Valley Unified School District, as well as at private schools and charter schools all over Napa, Solano, and Contra Costa counties. She runs after school art programs and summer art day camps in Napa and American Canyon. She teaches children and youth at galleries, clubhouses, churches, schools, as well as at private businesses and residences.

She teaches adult paint parties and group workshops, in all kinds of media, at galleries, restaurants, clubhouses, and other paint night venues. Being proficient in many different mediums allows her to inspire creativity in her students as she exposes them to different forms of art, from drawing to painting to mixed media and ceramics. Proving that art knows no boundaries, her students have ranged in age from 5 to 90 years young!

Ms Debbie believes in teaching and empowering students in directed art, as well as the freeform art of self-expression. She does this by giving them tools for the wide world of art, and guidance and experience in the use of varied art mediums. Budding young artists discover new and exciting ways to express themselves in a nurturing and creative environment.

Ms Debbie also loves theater, and has designed and painted many stage sets for different community theater companies, her latest work being the entire set design and painting for a production of Scrooge! The Musical in Oakland in 2016. As a muralist, her work can be seen on a number of buildings in the Napa area, and she has sold some of her works at The Jessel Gallery. Her typical paintings usually sell for $1400 to $1600.

Ms Debbie’s hobbies include singing as a soloist and choir member, and gardening. Her motto is “Enter the wonderful world of art!”, and she believes that we should uplift and create beauty wherever we go. Ms Debbie can be contacted at artwithmsdebbie@gmail.com.
